Self directed project-- Blender

Research for 3D animation: Program--Blender

1. Tutorial on Blender's website. Introduction to Blender.
[I got to know that blender is the best and trusted free 3D modeling tool that all artists and even professionals are working with to do essay 3D,[ even this program to me is a bit hard to work with , but I find it has a lot of functions and uses I could work with,]

2.I find the first tutorial called " blender character modeling" by Darrin Lile, there's 10 tutorials in total, and I watched all of them each one is about 15mins long. He's technique of modeling is start with building character's face first. 1.start with single "plane " and start building from the character's nose part. 2.put on check of the mirror tool bar as building one side of the character, the side that's the mirror of the side that I'm building is auto copying what I'm doing . [ I thought if I will start with the face of the character, then I might start with the eyes, or the edge of the face, because when I'm drawing I usually start with those parts ]

3. The second tutorial i have found about character modeling is called " Blender character creation: modeling " by Sebastain Lague, The sketch he has done for his character seems really simple, the body of the character is basically two cube been stretched to shape like body and he did a little adjustment with the curve of the body made the character has more a human look to it. After he built and finish the character he didn't get to the eyes part.[ I noticed It's might be the hardest part to build ]. At the final step, he apply bones to each part of the character that should be able to move , and a simple animation he also made for character's walking cycle.[ I think for starting character modeling, he's tutorial will be more esszier for me

Few of  my  progress[ didn't get to the leg part, have a little knowledge about modeling but not so familiar, in stage of trying ]

Links of tutorials I have watched
1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QT1GNMevfc
2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiIoWrOlIRw   [ This one helped me the most, it's simple and it works for me ],
3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y__uzGKmxt8  [ This is a tutorial for building a mug, which I have watched this whole but didn't help me with any ].
4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cn0z9yJkR2s [ unfortunately the software this person use cost quit a bit, but it's so cool.
5. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nn7mISvVzJk
[ I watched a lot of tutorials, but these are the ones that I actually finished watching all parts of it, and they does help me a lot ]

HAHAHAHA
Right now it's still missing its head ^-^, and I'm a little bit stuck on this stage, I could get over it I think.

Right I'm on the stage of building his head, the reason for me to put his leg as last part of modeling because I have stuck here quit lone so I just go back finish other parts first.

Ted Talk: Roey Sutherland

  1. all value is subjective, BUT an intangible change can be just as satisfying as a physical change.
  2. re brand the potato – changing its perceived value. [ Design change how people value an object]
  3. We need to learn to appreciate things that already exist before creating new things.
  4. He says “When you place a value on things like health and love and learn to place a material value on what you’ve previously discounted for being merely intangible … you realize you’re much, much wealthier than you ever imagined.”
  5. Poetry is when you make new things familiar and familiar things new.
  6. "We are perishing for want of wonder, not for want of wonders."
  7. Small things has more value if you value it more.
  8.  many flashy, expensive fixes are just obscuring better,
  9. Expensive new stuff, it's expensive is not because that it worth that value, it's because of the design made you think it worth that much.
  10. Designer should focusing more on making a old thing better rather than make new things,
